    Deposit requirements are project-specific. As a general guideline, we typically require approximately 20% of the project value as a down payment to begin. Payment schedules are usually split into four progress-based payments, depending on project size and milestones.

  • Are you licensed, insured, and WSIB compliant?

    Yes. We are fully insured and WSIB compliant, in good standing. All electrical work is completed by ESA-licensed electricians, and plumbing and HVAC work is performed by licensed plumbers and gas technicians. This ensures all work meets Ontario regulations and safety standards.

    All change orders are clearly communicated both verbally and in writing. No change to the original scope of work is implemented without documented approval and client authorization. This ensures transparency and prevents unexpected costs or misunderstandings.

Our Process

1. CONSULTATION

Depending on the project, the initial consultation will take place either in your home, business, or over the phone, where we will discuss your wish list, objectives, and desired investment range.
During this time, if the consultation is in your home/business, you can expect us to take measurements, pictures of your existing space, as well as create an initial layout of your vision.
After we perform the tasks above, we may ask you to provide inspirational images, examples of materials (tiles, flooring, vanities, etc.), and anything else that may reflect your design style and vision for the space/project.

2. CONCEPT

Once we have a full understanding of your vision, a quotation will follow with the details of the Scope of Work to be carried out.
If the quotation meets your budget and the details are agreed upon, we will then begin to prepare concepts through examples and establish a preliminary Scope of Work with the budget agreed upon in the quotation.
Once the Scope of Work is reviewed, revised if necessary, accepted, and signed, we will provide a commencement date.

3. CONSTRUCTION

Project schedules and timelines will be discussed prior to commencement to ensure that there will be no conflicts/interruptions with anyone in your business or household.
Afterward, construction preparation will begin.
Prior to any construction starting, the crew will protect and secure all areas as required, and a disposal bin will be delivered (if required), and demolition (if required) will commence.
Throughout the construction phase, you can expect the site to be cleaned daily.
The Construction Manager will perform site inspections on a regular basis, and ongoing customer interactions/notifications will be provided to keep you informed and up to date.
During the construction phase, you will be required to submit regular payments as outlined in the Scope of Work renovation agreement.
For your convenience, Clearfield Construction will send you an invoice for each payment at the times agreed upon.

4. INSPECTION

One of the most exciting days during the renovation process happens when you do your final walk-through.
Prior to project completion sign-off, you should take your time on the walk-through and carefully inspect all details of work carried out, as it is important to us that you are completely happy with the outcome of the project.
At this time, the final payment will be required, and your 1-year warranty with Clearfield Construction will begin.

WSIB Coverage: We are fully WSIB compliant and in good standing, with current clearance certificates available upon request.

Contractor Insurance: We carry commercial general liability insurance with coverage up to $5,000,000, adjustable as required. This provides added protection for homeowners, condo corporations, and property managers, and allows us to meet higher insurance limits when required for larger or commercial projects.

Licensed and Qualified Trades: All specialized work is completed by properly licensed tradespeople. Electrical work is performed by ESA-licensed electricians and inspected as required, with all work meeting Ontario Building Code and regulatory requirements.

Preferred Vendor: We regularly meet vendor compliance requirements for condo corporations and property management companies, including COIs, WSIB clearance, and required documentation.
